How a design comes together

Every décor design starts with the purpose of the event rather than a mood board. Has it run before, and what worked last time? Who is coming, and what should they feel walking in?

From there, we open a shared folder and ask you to fill it with anything that says what you want — other events, but also colours, films, textures, a hotel lobby you liked. The design is built from that, and it is built to be scalable: we will not present a concept we cannot deliver within the budget. Where the layout matters, we help work out stage size, room capacity and rounds against theatre seating, with proposals and basic plans before anything is built.

Décor and light as one design

Most of our décor is made to take light. White spandex, plexiwall panels and plexi cubes are blank until they are lit, so the same set can read as cool and corporate at a product launch and warm at a gala. That is why we design the décor and the lighting together rather than handing one to the other: a spandex tower topped with a moving head, a wall of scenic panels uplit in the client's colours, a row of plinths glowing from inside.

Where you have seen it

  • The Dubai & Israel tourism event at Vantage Venues. Guests arrived along a red carpet between chrome stanchions and glowing blue plinths; inside, a taupe drape wall with a draped archway between the two rooms was washed amber, and the stage backed onto a wall of frosted panels lit pink and blue. See the event.
  • IBX Services' Client Appreciation Night at Atlantis. Lit white plinths carrying the client's logo and glowing red spheres, against red-uplit drapes all round the glass walls. See the event.
  • A first birthday in Oakville. A Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme in blue, white and silver: balloon moons over every table and a dessert table built on giant white letters. See the event.

Decor questions

What décor do you keep in stock?
Poles and stanchions with red and black rope, plexiwall panels, scenic décor panels, white plexi cubes, white spandex in various shapes, drape in various colours and lengths, and red carpet in various sizes.
Can the décor match our brand?
Yes. Designs are built around your visual identity and your event’s theme, and most of our décor is lit, so it can carry your brand colours.
How do we start?
Tell us the purpose of the event and share your inspiration in a shared folder: other events, colours, films, spaces you like. The concept is built from that.
Do you do décor for small events?
Yes. Designs are scaled to the room and the budget, from a single entrance to a full ballroom.
