Special Event Production in Toronto

Providing The Finest Production For Your Special Events In The GTA

Not every event falls into a specific category but requires just as much attention to detail, as any other. And Special Events are just that “Special” To that end we view every occasion as a challenge to meet and exceed the expectations of all our clients. This also poses as a possibility to test our own standard and creativity, in the eyes of a unique event. Whatever the need or requirement, Future’s Past Events will take a proactive stance and we will always put our best foot forward for you, our esteemed clientele!

What counts as special

Award galas and fundraisers, charity drives and community evenings, concerts, sports ceremonies, holiday parties and family milestones. What they have in common is that none of them fits a template: each one has a room, an audience and a moment that are its own.

Special events we have produced

  • An awards gala. ACE — Albanian Canadian Excellence — celebrated its 2017 nominees at Château Le Jardin in Woodbridge with a full stage, profile-lit speeches, a band and a string duo. See the event.
  • A championship ceremony. For the OMHA championships in Clarington we built a lit truss arch on the ice and brought each player out through haze into a spotlight, with a brass band on a red carpet on the ice. See the event.
  • A charity drive. Canadian Blood Services signed up stem-cell donors for its OneMatch network at Mashu Mashu Restaurant, which we turned into an evening with uplighting and a DJ. See the event.
  • A concert. Beams, lasers and haze for a hip-hop show at Mingles Social Club. See the event.
  • A holiday party. IBX Services' gala dinner at Atlantis, Ontario Place: a band under a truss grid, the band live on a screen above the stage, and carnival dancers. See the event.
  • A family celebration. A first birthday in Oakville, themed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. See the event.

Working with performers

Many of these evenings were built around entertainment: live bands, string players, a harpist, aerialists on silks and hoops, dancers in LED suits. Performers bring their instruments; we make them heard and seen — microphones and monitors for the band, a system that carries to the back tables, and light that finds an aerialist high above the dance floor.

Any room

Special events rarely happen in conference centres. Ours have been in banquet halls and heritage ballrooms, a glass pavilion on the waterfront, a golf clubhouse, a restaurant, a nightclub and an arena. Each room changes the plan — power, load-in, where a speaker can stand — which is why the room is the first thing we ask about.

Special Events questions

Do you take private events like birthdays?
Yes. A first-birthday celebration in Oakville is one of the case studies on this site, alongside the corporate galas.
Can you work in a restaurant or a small room?
Yes. We work at the scale the room allows; power and load-in decide more than floor space does.
Can you support live bands and performers?
Yes. We provide sound for bands, microphones for acts and MCs, and lighting for performers on stage, on the dance floor and in the air.
Can you handle an event outside a normal venue, like an arena?
Yes. For the OMHA championships we built a lit entrance arch on the ice at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Clarington.
